Affordable Ski, Walk and Activity holidays with Jesus at the centre

Welcome to the Gold Hill website for Skiing, Snowboarding, Walking and Activity holidays.  We are a Christian company, open to all, who want to join in a Christian holiday. You can come alone or with a group of friends.

What makes us distinctive? We are a Christian holiday organisation that has been providing fun, outdoor, affordable and exciting holidays for over twenty five years. Throughout the year we take people away for skiing / boarding, walking and multi-activity weeks and weekends, giving the opportunity to meet new people, gain new skills and enjoy great fellowship. We aim to encourage people to try new sports, especially those who thought them to be beyond their budget or ability, which is why we constantly fight to keep the prices of our holidays down and the quality up.

We are here to help, so ring or email us if you have any questions at all.

This week's bible verse:-  Do not be anxious about anything, but in every sitiuation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  Philipians 4.6

What's going on at the moment at Gold Hill?

  • Swiss Walking leaves at the end of this week which will be lots of fun, walking, climbing and via ferrata-ing!
  • The August Bank Holiday weekend is happening in North Devon
  • We're heading back to the Lakes in October for a walking weekend, staying right up in the hills of Coniston which was a great laugh last time.

Here's another reason to subscribe to the newsletter: the email looks far more fancy than the news item on the website!!!

God Bless,

April Update

Vicky Nurcombe May update

Please pray:

13/05/10 - Vicky is now walking independently, with the assistance of a stick. She manages the stairs by herself.  There is still considerable weakness and instability in her leg.  Her right arm has some flickers of muscle contractions. Vicky has considerable pain in her right shoulder as the joint is no longer protected by the muscles.  There has been some improvement in Vicky's speech, but it remains very frustrating.  Malcolm continues to be busy. Kim and zach are coping on the surface.

Please continue to pray for them all

22/04/10 - Vicky came home on the 20th April!

It is hoped that physiotherapy will be provided by good friends, and they are buying in speech therapy as there is no social service support.  Vicky still needs support whilst walking and is able to get upstairs with assistance. Her speech is sometimes a little more fluent.  There is still no significant movement in her right arm and hand so please pray for that to heal.  Malcolm is very tired, and the children having to adapt. They are all spending alot of time together, both laughing and crying.

09/03/10 - Vicky can now walk a little with some support and a little speech is returning. There is still very little movement in her right shoulder and none in her right hand.  Please pray that the physio will work and that she will regain full use of her right side.  Please also pray for Malcolm, Kim and Zach who are having to cope with so much at the moment.

09/02/10 - Vicky Nurcombe had a major stroke on 9th February. This left her with no movement in her right arm, right leg and no speech.  Since this time, she has been moved to a stroke unit near Loughborough.  Please pray for Vicky's full recovery.
