This year, we are going to use a new centre in Port Eynon on the Gower called Borfa House. We have been running weekends to this area since 1983 and have now run over 30 such "beach based" (Sun, Sea & Surf) activity weekends! This takes place on the Late August Bank Holiday weekend represents a great time to get away with warmer seas, expected good weather and a feel good atmosphere in the village. Our aim is to have a fun and chilled out outdoor weekend. We hope to be surfing, body boarding, climbing, cliff-walking, silly beach games on the sand, relaxing and generally enjoying God's creation and each other's company. This weekend starts as early as possible on Saturday morning on the beach and runs until Monday afternoon/evening. It includes accommodation, food and use of the activity equipment. Borfa House
Local information Wetsuits are essential to stay in the sea for any length of time. There is one hire shop in Llangennith- See their website. The best surfing beach is Llangennith at Hillend campsite (GR 414908) which is reached by turning left at the mini roundabout in the village. This costs £3 to park for the day and the parking is 100m walk from the beach. There is rock climbing in the area. We have used the area called boiler slab which is a 15 minute walk from Port Eynon near Longhole Cave. There are many possibilities for coastal walking in the area. Other activities on offer in the area are: paragliding, mountain boarding, kite surfing... |
